Proverbs 3:5 "Trust In The Lord"

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5

Proverbs 3:5 is a well known Bible verse that encourages believers to be confident and know that God works through them. We have often heard the phrase "called up", to describe those who have given their life to Jesus and the spreading of the Gospel. These people are from all walks of life and levels of education. God doesn't choose someone to represent him, based on their IQ levels or athletic ability. God chooses first and then works through the chosen. He puts the words into their mouth, when they may not know what to say. He allows their eyes to see what he needs them to see. He gives them the abilities needed, to fulfill their purpose for God.

As a Christian, you may find yourself struggling to understand. You may be worried that you are not living as Christ truly intended or that you do not have the abilities needed to share his message. This is where Proverbs 3:5 becomes important. Each of us has a personal relationship with God. Allow him to speak to your heart. Trust in him. Let go of trying to understand on your own and allow God to work through you.

Bearing witness and sharing the Gospel to the rest of the world can often feel like an impossible and sometimes dangerous task. When we try to accomplish these things on our own, we will most certainly fall short. However, when we submit and allow God to work through us. Everything just works. In the words of Eric Ludy
"If you try to imitate in your own strength, you will be a miserable replica. But if you allow the impartation of Jesus Christ to overtake you..Suddenly it all works. Because it's HIM imitating himself. And he is very good..At being God."
So as you move forward, remember that you don't have to be a rocket scientist or professional speaker, to represent Christ. You have all you need, when you have your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Open your heart to Christ and then let him work through you. Proverbs 3:5 tells us that we will not always understand. So we should not expect to understand everything. However, we can trust in God and know that the path he has prepared for us is good and that everything we need has been placed along the way. We just have to walk it.
