Show It

Many Christians have never led anyone to a personal relationship with Jesus. They realize that they are suppose to speak of their faith and to share it with a lost and dying world, but to make that a reality is something else. There are many emotions that come into play when it comes to talking to a stranger about Jesus Christ. Some of these feelings are; a fear of rejection, a feeling of inadequacy, ignorance of the Scripture, and even embarrassment. Even if a Christian is given a tract to pass out, they just can't seem to muster up enough courage to approach someone with the Gospel message. What happens to people like that is they develop a sense of guilt that is reinforced by the evangelical militants. Then they resolve not be involved in any kind of outreach. Some then migrate into larger churches in order to blend into the masses and by doing so, let the other people assume the outreach to the lost. Others seek out fellowships that do not cater to evangelistic outreach. Whatever the reason, when one fails to reach out to the lost, there is a danger of developing immunity to spiritual growth.

It is not the talk that brings the lost to Jesus, it is the walk. One's life is the drawing card to a hurting world. The believer is to be an example of an "extreme makeover." Old things have passed away and everything has become new. (II Cor. 5:17) More people are brought to Christ by being a living example then by throwing a pamphlet at someone. The Apostle Paul again and again stresses that his life was to be an example for others to follow. (II Thess. 3: 9) He wrote to Timothy that he was to be an example of a believer "... in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (I Tim. 4:12) To Titus he wrote that he should show himself as a pattern of good works. (Titus 2:7) The Believer today is to be a living, loving, expressing letter that is to be read by the dying, hating, depressing world. Paul said that the Corinthians were his "epistle" that was written in his heart. (II Cor. 3:2)

If you have experienced a life changing moment in your life, you need to show it. When people see how you react to the negative things of the world, how you respond to difficult situations, how you turn your cheek when people hurt you, how you walk in victory in the midst of troubles, how you give of yourself to others, they will ask you "why are you so different?" You don't have to worry about them having a fear of rejection or embarrassment, for they want to know what you have that is so different from them.

How do you know you have never led someone to Christ? So many believe that they have to lead someone all the way to the finish line before they can say they brought someone to Jesus. Yet the Bible says there are seed planters and those who water. You may have laid the seed and later on someone came along and watered your efforts. The outcome was that God harvested the soul as a result of two or more people's effort. Who gets the reward for leading that person to Jesus? Both the planter and the one who watered. (I Cor. 3: 5-9) You may have led many people to our Savior and you just didn't know it! LIVE IT, SHOW IT, SHARE IT, and God will do the rest!
