When you became born again, your spirit became new but your mind and body did not become new so you will need to renew your mind to conform it to the new spirit that is inside of you. Romans 12:2 read and do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. When the mind is renewed, the body will follow because if you began to believe in healing and speak healing scriptures, your body will be healed. Not only that, but once you renew your mind concerning anything it will be done for you.
When you became born again, you were given a new home; a heavenly home and your name were written in the Lamb's book of life. You are now a citizen of heaven so that is the place where your mind should be; at your place of residence.
The word of God said that we are in the world but not of the world. You are different from the world with better benefits which the world cannot give you. However, if your mind is not renewed to God's way of doing things then you will live as the world lives; you would look to it for your provision and protection which is limited and for the most part, you will live far below what God has in mind for you.
The thing that cripples us the most is our own self effort because most of us have been taught to be self sufficient but when it comes to the kingdom of God, our self efforts works against us. Jesus has done all the work for us, He has set God's plan for our life in order but if we would try to work everything out for ourselves, then we are messing up His plan. The thing for us to do is to wait upon Him to reveal to us what we should do. Some years ago these initials came out and it was very popular and even today it is still popular; the initials were WWJD, which means what would Jesus do. You could find it on a lot of things such as buttons, key chains, necklaces and wrist bands. Its message is very inspiring because it took our mind off of what we would do in a situation and places it on the mind of Jesus.
Changing the way that we think can be a struggle because our mind is powerful and filled with all kind of negative thoughts if allow to run at will but we can control our thinking by lining it up to what the word of God say.
When your mind is set on the things that are from above your life here on earth will become more productive and fulfilling. Burdens will be lifted off of you from self efforts and from the elements of the world; truly you will experience what it means to have the joy of the Lord manifesting in your life and to have His peace that surpasses all understanding.
