Words Do Hurt

You may have heard this saying, sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. Well contrary to popular belief that words does not hurt, that is not true because our words can hurt us.



I have heard people say this statement; you are going to eat those words. I now know that that is not just a saying because Proverbs 18: 21 read death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. The things that we allow to come out of our mouth now, we will eat the fruit of it later on so we should be mindful of what we say because our words can either bless us or harm us.

If we are prone to speaking negative words, we should look around us because there will be negative things in our life that we have created. We might wonder why certain things happen to us, most likely it is because of what we have said. Words have the power to create and it will create what we speak. God spoke the world into existence by words. His words have power and we are created in His image with that same power in us to create what we want. Unfortunately, some people use this great source of power in a negative way, they speak words that are not beneficial to them and those words will hurt them. They may not realize what they are saying but nevertheless, their words are on a mission and it will produce what is spoken even if they are not aware of what they are saying.

Another way that words can hurt us is if we would listen to someone else speaking negative about us. If we would receive what he say, then we might as well have spoken it out of our own mouth because it will produce what he said. However their words can only produce in our life if we would accept what they say. So what others say to us or about us can hurt us if we would believe it and it is possible that their words can determine our destiny but it is only possible if we would receive what is spoken.

If we would speak positive words, prosperity will come to us or if someone else would speak positive words about us; prosperity will come to us because words create and it does not matter who spoke it.

Satan cannot create anything because he is powerless but he listens to words that comes from us and he will see to it that what we speak will happen; this of course are negative words because there is no good thing in him so what he will bring to us are bad things from our negative speaking. The Angels of God ministry to us through positive speaking; namely the word of God. They cannot bring to us anything that is negative because their mission is to protect and to deliver us. They are listening for the word of God to come out of our mouth then they will go forth to bring to us what we speak.

We can create our destiny by the words that proceed out of our mouth for good or for bad; for life or for death. Moses said Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witness today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing, therefore, choose life that both you and your descendants may live. We can do that by simply speaking positive, faith filled words. However, if we choose to speak negatively then our words will most definitely hurt us and that is the path of death; maybe not eternal death but we will always be in a dry and baron place in life.
